It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. Like the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There's a wealth of settings available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers many functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
